Kenny and Leah share their love for their music.
Kenny
From his Chicago roots, saxophonist, bandleader, producer, Kenny Soderblom has had a multifaceted career as a full time musician. His 8 years with CBS/ Chicago staff orchestra, performing on all the woodwind instruments, led him into the freelance world where he played on thousands of TV and radio commercials. In addition, Kenny found time to contract and play with orchestras for: Frank Sinatra, Quincy Jones, Tony Bennett, Nancy Wilson, Rosemary Clooney, Peggy Lee, Lena Horne, Helen Merrill, Henry Mancini, Julie Andrews, Burt Bacharach, Benny Goodman, Mel Torme, Steve and Eydie, Bobby Rosengarden (Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Jerry Lewis Telethon) Dick Hyman (92nd Street “Y” in New York.) Nine country tour of jazz festivals with Gerry Mulligan and the “Rebirth of the Cool” Orchestra. Four years as a Music Director, Chicago Theatre. Associate music director, Magic Mountain opening season, Valencia, California.
Leah
Former Philadelphian: Multilingual singer, actress and dancer, Leah has modeled internationally, performed with Symphony Orchestras, Big Bands {including Lawrence Welk}, acted in Industrial Films, sung in Jazz Festivals and much more. She has recorded with Brazilian Guitarist/Singer Paulinho Garcia, performed with outstanding musicians, John Oddo, Kenny Drew, Jr. Richard Drexler, Judy Roberts, Jay Leonhart, Bucky Pizzarelli, David Finck, Jim Saporito, Bob Mann, Tony Kadleck, Lawrence Feldman, etc. to name a few. From her beginnings as a classically trained mezzo soprano singing fluently in 6 languages, Leah has flowered into a multi-ranged performer, equally comfortable singing jazz standards, Broadway treasures, Brazilian classics, Torch songs, and the passionate sounds of Fado. While in Lisbon, Portugal she received a standing ovation singing Fado for an International audience. During the 1980′s Leah performed on several luxury liners, among which was the elegant Fiffanella. She continues to push the envelope and has added sign language to her repertoire.
Together
They have performed for Patty Duke and The Sunshine From Darkness Foundation and for select audiences on Crystal and Regent cruise lines. Jazz standards – Broadway classics – Brazilian bossanovas and sambas – Portuguese Fado, etc. – They do them all.
